A&K Hair & Beauty is the “data controller” for information collected through this website.

Enquiry form. When you send an enquiry, register interest in education, or apply for a role, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number (optional), preferred date and time, the subject of your enquiry, your message, and - if you choose to attach them - inspiration photos or, for job applications, your CV.

Booking requests. Our booking buttons open the salon’s Timely booking page in a new tab. Booking details are collected through Timely, not this website’s enquiry form. Timely provides its own privacy information during booking.

AI assistant (“Ask A&K”). Our site includes an automated assistant that answers questions about the salon’s services, prices and opening hours. If you use it, the questions you type are processed to generate an answer. Please don’t share sensitive personal details (for example health information) in the chat - the assistant doesn’t need them, and it isn’t a substitute for speaking to the salon.

Technical information. Like almost all websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, sell your information, or add you to a marketing list through this website.

We only share your information with the service providers that make the website work:

• Website hosting - the site is hosted and its enquiry messages are stored on our behalf by our website platform and its infrastructure providers.
• Email delivery - enquiry and application notifications are emailed to the salon through an email delivery provider.
• AI assistant - chat questions and the conversation context are sent to an AI service through our website platform to generate answers. We request that conversations are not stored as model conversation history; provider security logging and retention are governed by their terms.

These providers process information to deliver the services described above and may also maintain security or abuse-monitoring records under their own terms. Some may process data outside the UK; applicable transfer safeguards are described in the providers’ terms.

We never sell your information. We will only disclose it further if the law requires it.

• Website enquiries and education registrations: stored for up to 12 months after submission, then removed with their uploaded files by a daily cleanup. Correspondence kept separately by the salon is reviewed 12 months after our last contact.
• Booking and appointment details are held separately by the salon and Timely, not in the website enquiry records. The salon’s retention period is 24 months after the appointment.
• Website job applications and uploaded CVs: removed after 6 months by a daily cleanup. Any CV kept separately for future roles requires your agreement.
• AI assistant chats: this website does not save a chat history in its enquiry records. The conversation remains in the page while you use it. Provider security logs may be retained under the provider’s terms; we cannot guarantee a 30-day limit for those logs.
• Technical logs: for the short period our hosting provider retains them for security purposes.

Your information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access limited to the salon and the providers named above. Photos and CVs are private. Enquiry emails contain links anyone with the link can open for 30 days; the salon should save files it needs to retain. Expiry of a link is separate from deletion of the stored file. Website cleanup does not delete copies in the salon’s inbox or Timely. We keep only what we need for the purposes in this policy.

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is wrong;
• ask us to delete information (in some circumstances);
• ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
• ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation;
• withdraw consent where we rely on it (for example, at any time after you gave us your details).

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Our website is intended for clients booking salon services. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to make enquiries or bookings on your behalf.

If we change this policy we will publish the updated version on this page with a new date.
